All the repairing work are done. The parquet were lacquered by A today, he did the plumbing for the kitchen sink (I would love to have one of those copper kitchen sinks, but A said this one is still good so we'll make do for a while), the "kitty" corner where the litter bin would be has also been prepared.. SO YES.. we are moving .. kitties and all!

Nosy Aggie

I always tell Aggie not to be so nosy when mommy is doing her packing.. but she rarely listens. She thinks she is the princess of the house and she can do whatever she wants.

Just look at what she's doing now. She is playing with mommy's filing tray as mommy was packing her home office furniture. Good thing mommy was in a good mood today otherwise for sure well all will end up being scolded..

Aggie oh aggie.. you might be the youngest girl in the house but please grow up already!!

Family Tree

Mommy was going through this website that deals with ancestry dna and she thought it might be a good idea to document our history as well. She said it would let us know where we came from and not forget out ancestors and those that have left us, like Mufasa and Anja.

She also told us that our real daddy, Mek, and our real mommy, Putery, were very kind and cute and adorable just like us. Now, if only she can find picutes of them, we can start drawing the tree already!

Hurry mommy!

Moving On with a New Toy

Ever since Anja passing, mommy and daddy have really been busy with our move. Mommy didn't cry as much as when Mufasa crossed the rainbow bridge. Though I think it not because she doesn't love Anja but she told us she need to be stronger this time because she wouldn't have been able to bear to see Anja suffering anymore. So both her and daddy are at a peace knowing that Anja now is at peace and happy in heaven.

Anyway, we are very excited with all the action around us. In anticipation of the move, mommy and daddy have bought us a new toy. They call it a scratching post though to me it looks like more of a pole.. Mommy said we are supposed to use that to sharpen our claws from now on. So far, we has provided mommy and daddy with lots of entertainment while me and Minnie get acquainted with it. At the rate we are going "exercising" with the ball that is attached to the post, we for sure won't need any pure ephedra any time soon! But if you need to lose three to five pounds weekly, feel free to check it out ok.

Here's a picture of us with the post. Can you see Minnie's tummy... lol!

Anja's Tale *

I was in tears when we picked up Anja from the animal hospital on Wednesday. The vet did say that she was on the verge of being anemic but I did not expect to see her quite so lifeless lying in that cage. The vet explained how to administer the medication, Epakitin and Azodyl and mentioned that since she is anemic, she would be cold and we are supposed to keep her warm all the time. She asked us to bring Anja back on Monday for another blood test.

Anja was so weak, her breath was so shallow as I held her in my arms but she still responded to A and my voice and that was a good sign we thought. In fact upon reaching home, she sort of perked up a bit, and even managed a few times of where she actually held her head up and sat down watching everything that was going on around her.. watching away as Smokey, Nina, Minnie and Aggie visited her, smelled her and as they walked away, Anja's head would follow in that direction as well. She was weak, can't stand up, can't walk but she was alert and she was responsive.

She wasn't eating and drinking though. She lost her appetite and though we were force-feeding her with food and drink, her little body couldn't stand it.. Her heart was overworked as it was beating fast. Her vet told us that as her kidney fails to perform and produce the red blood cell, the heart got to pump extra fast to make sure whatever blood there is in her small body gets circulated. She had become anemic and quicky went in and out of consciousness.

We continue to force-feed her and syringing her with water every 30minutes. Small quantity but continuous, just as her vet suggested. At 4am when I was feeding her, she looked like she was choking but thank god nothing happened.. At 7am when I fed her, though she looked like she was awake, she was actually unconscious .

Anja's condition deteriorated throughout the day. She drifted in and out of consciousness and got weaker and weaker even with continued force-feeding.. It was so heartbreaking to keep forcing her to eat as each gulp was like torture to her but we continued.

By dusk, she was going into spasm. I prayed. I prayed to God that if it is time for her to go.. please take her and end her suffering but if it's not her time yet, then please ease her suffering as well.

At 8.40pm, 3rd June 2009, Anja took her last three breath in my arms. She took one breath and exhale.. then another breath and exhale and with the third one, her frail body stopped moving. She was gone.

In a way, I was relieved that her suffering has ended. She was so tiny that it was simply heartbreaking to continue pushing medicine and food down her throat.

We would miss her for sure but we know that she is at a much happier place now and her suffering is gone..

Anja passed away from Chronic Renal Failure. My baby was only eight.

Anja's favorite sleeping place!!

Goodbye our sleeping beauty.. we will miss you dearly....

Securing Kitties

Recently we just got word that our friend's home have been broken into while he was out-state visiting his parents. It seemed that he or his wife has forgotten to leave the lights on in the kitchen (a trick they normally use to create the look that someone is home when they do their monthly travel out-state) this time and the burglars entered their home via the back door. The burglars ransacked their home and made it out with jeweleries and cash.

This is the not the first time we heard of such happenings. Just a few months earlier, a blogger friend of mine in Penang also had her home broken into. The burglars got away with cash, jewelery and even their laptops.

The area that I'm moving into right now is very quiet. So quite that you can even hear the tick tock of the clock on the wall. So A has decided to install a security system for our new home. With the bad economy and lots of people losing jobs, he thinks we need to secure our homes with the best system out there and he believes it to be ADT home security system.

Our possessions are very important to us and that includes the four kitties we have left now. Since the death of Mufasa and Anja recently, Minnie, Aggie, Nina and Smokey has all gotten to be more precious to us. We'll be devastated if the house was broken into and anything happened to them. With the ADT home security system, we feel secure once more leaving the house.

Rest in Peace Anja Cemara
